Home > News > DESIGNING SUBNATIONAL REDD FRAMEWORKS FOR GHANA
11 November 2010
Climate Focus helped facilitate a workshop to discuss options for implementing early action REDD+ activities in Ghana as part of a process to design their nested accounting framework. Interactive discussions spurred progress on the next steps amongst public authorities, civil society stakeholders and project developers. The Workshop presentation and related reports are accessible below.
Prior to the workshop, Climate Focus prepared a document that describes potential subnational approaches to REDD+ accounting systems. The analysis covers the technical and institutional requirements that accompany different subnational approaches. Other relevant aspects for developing subnational level activities are described by authors, including application of procedural rights and safeguards and transaction related aspects.
