Climate Focus has been contracted by JSC “TNC Kazchrome” to assess options for monetizing the emission reductions from a waste gas utilisation project at the Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant in Kazakhstan.

VCS is developing the groundbreaking Jurisdictional and Nested REDD Initiative to provide a pathway for scaling up REDD activities. The initiative is convening policymakers, practitioners and technical experts from around the world to develop guidelines for creating robust accounting frameworks that will allow for crediting REDD projects, policies and programs across national and sub-national jurisdictions.
The programme aims to develop and establish a sustainable biogas sector in Nicaragua. It will promote the acquisition and construction of biodigesters at households with livestock. Use of the biogas for cooking and lighting will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by displacing non-renewable biomass and fossil fuels (kerosene) and reducing methane emissions from manure.
The LEAF program helps its six core countries (Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and Vietnam) identify the most economical and effective ways to manage their land and forests and works through regional partnerships to replicate successful approaches. These partnerships also focus on developing common scientific standards and protocols and preparing countries for potential REDD+ activities.
